Day-to-Night Makeup in 5 Minutes or Less

We've all been there...a long shift, your makeup is on its last legs, you're a bit tired but REALLY want to meet your friends at happy hour and not look like a hot mess.

It really doesn't take much to spruce up and zhjshooj (is this a made-up word? zhoojsh? zchoozsh?) yourself into a fresher look in five minutes or less. The five key products to have in your bag are powder, bronzer, eyeshadow, a bold lipstick, and dry shampoo.

POWDER

Chances are, if you're like me, after a full day you'll have some shiny areas in your T-Zone, or just all over. The first thing you want to do is use a translucent pressed powder. I've never found one I liked better than Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder (Travel-sized is $23 - Sephora). It's just the best.

BRONZER

After you've gotten yourself back to a matte state, now it's time to add some shine and color back. I know, seems counter intuitive right? Sweep some bronzer onto your cheeks, and a bit onto your temples, nose, chin, and jawline. Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer is a great option, and comes in a handy dandy travel size ($15 - Sephora or Ulta).

EYESHADOW

Instead of messing with more liner, a really simple way to go from a daytime or office look to a night look is to sweep a darker eye shadow under the eye. It only takes a few seconds, and really makes a difference. I recommend a nice brown or copper-toned shadow. Kat Von D makes a mini version of the shadow palette I used every day: Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad ($26 - Sephora).

BOLD LIPSTICK

Even if you don't have time for the other steps, switching up your lip color to something a bit bolder is a great way to change your whole look. Try a vibrant red, hot pink, or deep plum. A nice drugstore find is the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color in "Rebel Red". I like its affordable price tag ($6.99-Any drugstore) & smooth, creamy application.

DRY SHAMPOO

My savior. A few sprays of this into your roots, let it dry for 20 seconds, then rub into your scalp. It will not only give you more thickness & volume, but will make your strands smell nice. Not Your Mother's Dry Shampoo ($6-Most drugstores) is always a safe bet.

That's totally less than five minutes, right? Just add some perfume behind your ears on the drive to wherever you're going (at a red light of course!), and you're fresh and fierce and zchsgzoooshzed and ready for the night.

Cheers! Xx
